“Life without music is a great mistake.” – Nietzsche
Music is considered the art of expressing emotions through sounds, with sound and rhythm being its most important elements. Among the seven primary human arts, music holds the foremost position. Afghanistan’s music is a reflection of the cultural and linguistic diversity in the country, encompassing various styles from Persian ghazals to Indian ragas. Despite the rich musical heritage, internal conflicts have suppressed and limited the recording of Afghan music for external audiences.
